Donation protected

There will be a service for Devon on Sunday, April 7 at 3:00 pm at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church at 425 Congress St in Portland, ME with a celebration gathering immediately after.

There is only on-street parking, some area garages may also be open that day.

Come, bring Devon in your heart and share how you carry him with you.

===============================================

Please send no flowers. Devon's family asks that anyone interested in expressing support and sorrow (and celebration) do so by making a contribution in Devon's name to:

The Fund for John Hopkins Medicine

Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Fund

5200 Eastern Avenue

MFL Center Tower, Suite 354

Baltimore, MD 21224-2735

Devon and his parents put their faith in the doctors at Johns Hopkins for the past year and a half and we continue to be thankful for all they did for us. No human on Earth could have done anything more to help Dev but there are other families who might be able to benefit from contributions made in Devon's name.

Melody and Allen.

=============================

November 8, 1989, 4:40 pm . . .
Devon Allen Merritt was born on 11/8/89 at 4:40 in the afternoon. His father and brother were present at the home birth in Brookline, MA.

Devon spent his life becoming the man he grew into: smart, funny, talented, loyal, generous, ... I could go on and on.

On March 29, 2013 at 4:40 pm, about a 10- minute drive from where he was born, at the Brigham &Women's Hospital in Boston, Devon became an angel as he slipped the surly bonds of Earth to touch the face of God and rest there in the hollow of his hand. His parents and brother were with him, holding him, caressing him, wishing him a swift journey.

Rest in peace Dev. You will be travelling with us wherever we go, forever.
