My son is fighting rejection of his double lung transplant. He has been hospitalized several times now since October and is currently hospitalized and unable to work.
Initial Story:
My son Brent received double lung transplant on December 6, 2012 due to a chronic lung disease he was born with called Cystic Fibrosis. He was diagnosed at 6 months old and has been battling this terrible disease all of his short 24 years. He has been in and out of hospitals and at home on home IV therapy fighting lung infection after lung infection which over the last several years has had a significant impact on his lungs which were only functioning at 16% prior to transplant.
My son is my hero, he has been through so much and still somehow manages to keep a good attitude and he has a great sense of humor. He continues to be strong and endure all that is thrown his way and gives me strength and courage to battle this right along side of him and advocate for him and those with Cystic Fibrosis and create awareness!!
As I am sure you can imagine, the costs/expenses associated with having a double lung transplant are astronomical and will continue for the rest of his life having to be on countless post transplant/anti-rejection meds so we are fundraising to help cover the expenses that are not covered by our health insurance.
