Lucia Raegan Kesner Celebration of Life

8 years ago Geneva Kesner gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Lucia Raegan Kesner. It was discovered that Lucia suffered from a debilitating and terminal disease called Mucolipidosis Type II, also known as I-Cell disease. For the last 8 years Luci's little body has been dependent on a tracheotomy, a ventilator, constant oxygen, a suction machine to keep her trach clear, and a feeding tube in order for her to survive. Little Luci required trach suctioning 2-20x an hour and needed constant care and supervision. Her mom rose to the challenge to care for her daughter and left her career to be a full time care giver.
Balancing work and Lucia's care was Genny's biggest challenge. 8 years. 2,900+ days. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute - Luci needed continuous support . With help from a nursing care agency, Genny was able to get just enough help to cover some sleep and a few days of part time work to provide and survive.
Sacrifice. Our friend sacrificed everything for her baby girl and she did an amazing job. Children with I-Cell disease do not typically live past the age of 5, but little sweet Lucia lived to be 8. She passed away the very day of her 8th birthday, and our hearts break with Genny and her entire family as they prepare to bury their baby girl.
The cost of a medically complex child can be overwhelming in addition to the expenses of the funeral and burial. Therefore, we are asking you to consider helping us, help her.
As momma and family transition into the next chapter of their life, we wish to lift some of the financial burden and honor Lucia with a Celebration of Life Service. Contribution(s) in any amount will help as she lays her daughter to rest. We appreciate and thank you for your generosity and support during this very difficult time.
