Alan Meyer’s world came to a heart-wrenching stop in April 2016 when he was diagnosed with Advanced Renal Failure (Kidney Failure). As a loving father and dedicated Lieutenant in the California Department of Corrections, Alan refuses to let this serious prognosis beat him without a fight. Even with the medical burden of 4 hours of dialysis a day, 6 days a week, Alan continues to dedicate all his remaining time and love to his 14-year-old, autistic son Ethan and his beautiful fiancée Michele.
Against all odds, Alan was fortunate enough to be matched with a donor, Sergeant Angel Hernandez. However, months of grueling tests, procedures, and hospital visits have left Alan buried under a mountain of medical expenses. To make matters worse, his failing health has limited Alan’s ability to work, adding to the Meyer family’s growing debt. Time is running out for Alan to get the funds he needs to pay for his kidney transplant!
