Medical Treatment

\"Some of you may have heard that I am back in the States.  My heart is failing and I have to have open-heart surgery to implant a device that will keep it going--something similar to a pacemaker, called an RST-D.  The valves also are damaged and in need of repair.  I\'ve taken a leap of faith to return to the States for medical treatment and hope for the best.\"

We are raising money to cover the cost of implanting a life saving device (RST-D=Resynchronization Therapy Devise & Biv. Pacing ICD=Bivalve Pacing Inter-Cardiac Device).  

Because we are seeking monetary resources to cover the cost of essential medical treatment, the urgency is probably clear.  For those of you who haven\'t met Carmen personally, she is the advocate epitomized.  She is full of fight and drive for social justice. She is a activist, humanitarian and an artist, beautifying the world where ever she goes.  

The costs associated with the open-heart surgery, the devices to be implanted, as well as recovery, are expected to reach well over $50,000.
