My name is Lorraine Mitchell and I live in Brevard, North Carolina.  May 26, 1997 I was involved in a boating accident that resulted in the amputation of both of my legs.  I spend 14 days in the hospital and then 9 days in a rehab facility.  The day I got home my husband said to me "I didn't plan for this....I can't be a nurse to you for the rest of my life."  He is now my ex-husband!  I went back to work 12 weeks after the accident and have worked full time every since.  Since the accident, I have  driven the same truck and as you can imagine, the mileage is very high plus I have to break my wheelchair down to get it in and out of the truck.    18 years of doing this has created back and shoulder problems for me.  I have located a 2005 Dodge Van that already has a ramp and the hand controls that I need. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
