Help the Lock Children This Summer

Melissa Lock, the science teacher, 7th grade girls softball coach, and business manager for the school musical at William Allen Middle School, had surgery June 1, 2017 to remove a "Clival Chordoma, 6th Nerve Palsy" tumor in her brain.  The recovery will be several weeks, followed by proton radiation therapy every day for eight weeks.

Melissa has two small children and during the summer, the children stay at home with her.  In order to help Melissa recover, the children should be occupied during the day at a summer camp to give Melissa the optimal environment for a full recovery.  

To help offset the unforeseen cost of sending her two children to full-day care during the summer, we're hoping to provide enough funds to cover the cost of camp for her 6 year old and daycare for her 3 year old at the YMCA of Burlington County (Mt. Laurel).  

Melissa has not been able to drive since her diagnosis a few weeks ago.  Her kind husband and mother have been her "taxi" lately, dropping her off/picking her up at work, as well as dropping off/picking up the kids from school.  

Our original goal was $6000, the approximate cost to pay for summer camp for the children.  Due to the extreme generosity of Melissa's family, friends, and coworkers, our goal was met within 24 hours!  Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!  

The goal has since been updated to $10,000 after it occured to us that she will also need someone to drive the children to/from camp.  We'd like to hire a nanny to drive the kids to/from camp, and possibly do some small errands and light housework.  If you would be so kind to donate to this cause, we'd be more than appreciative!
