Meet Mary Camille Humbert…to know her is to love her! She’s a tenderhearted 18-year-old who lights up a room like “Liquid Sunshine” pouring in! You’ll never meet a more compassionate person. She is an accomplished artist with a deep love for horses.

Hi, I’m Cynthia and I'm blessed to be the  Momma of this amazing young woman. Asking for financial help is awkward and humbling, but as parents we will do anything to meet the needs of our children. This is Mary Camille’s story:
Sadly, when she was 14, after having strep throat and mono, her health failed rapidly. It took 2 hospital stays and 6 months for specialists to finally diagnose that she had developed POTS Syndrome. (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.)

POTS is a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary functions of the body, such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and breathing. For MC, this chronic syndrome has caused significant disability, including profound dizziness, fainting, fatigue, foggy brain, headaches, joint pain, heat and exercise intolerance and nausea.

Things became worse in 2016 when she fainted, hit her head and damaged her lower occipital nerve. This brain injury led to two years of migraines and convulsions. Thankfully, Neurointegration Therapy twice a week is helping control the convulsions.

MC has gone through so much and yet she keeps an attitude of gratitude. In the past 3 years, she’s been hospitalized 5 times. Her symptoms are so severe that she’s never been able to go back to school. Because POTS deprives the brain of oxygen, schoolwork is difficult and she is 2 years behind.

As you can imagine, it’s been traumatic for her to deal with these disabilities and to grieve the losses and dreams of being a normal teenager who gets to have a driver’s license, go to the prom or simply have friends to hang out with. Her greatest sadness is realizing she will never know what it’s like to attend a single day of high school. Our prayer is that she will one day be able to live on her own and enjoy college.

Although being her primary caregiver it a difficult job, it’s a privilege. Mary Camille makes it easy because she is such a loving and gentle person. I’m her solo parent and right now we desperately need your help.

Being her caregiver means I’ve been unable to work for over 3 years, her unpaid medical bills total over $30,000. Currently, the cost of just her monthly therapies and supplements is over $1,000. More bills will come as I relentlessly seek treatment options for my precious daughter. Please pray for accurate answers, hope, strength and perseverance for both of us.
