Celebrating Lionel Macauley’s Life
On September 13th 2020, Lionel Macauley and his friends were leaving a local party when a stranger fired shots into a large crowd. Multiple bullets went into the crowd and Lionel was hit in the chest. Lionel was a fighter. He held on as long as he could but at 1:52am on Sunday September 13th, Lionel was taken from us.
Lionel’s family and friends are devastated. At only 28, Lionel was an ambitious and loyal member of his community. He acted as a motivational spirit, a listening ear, and a sympathetic heart to all of those within his circle.
After graduating from Franklin High School, Lionel did a short stint at Del Val College before leaving to pursue his acting career. In pursuit of his big break, Lionel traveled across the world as an actor. Some of his most notable gigs took place in London, Belgium, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Austria, New York City, Mexico and of course his hometown of Franklin, New Jersey.
Gun violence takes the lives of too many Black men. These senseless acts of violence shatter the hearts of those that are left behind. The violence that took place on Sunday, September 13th caused us to lose a spirit that can never be replaced.
Lionel is survived by his father Cyril, his mother Esther, his older brother Ronald, his younger sister Michelle, and countless friends and family members. As we, his immediate family, attempt to make sense of our new reality, we are reaching out to you for support.
