Linda Courtenay's medical fund

My mother, Linda Courtenay, has Myelofibrosis, a rare, chronic blood cancer that affects the bone marrow and the production of blood cells. She was diagnosed with the disease 12 years ago and she did not have many symptoms in the early stages of the disease.  This past Spring the disease progressed and her blood counts became severely affected.   My Mom is severely anemic requiring weekly blood transfusions and her immune system is compromised from the disease.  She has also just started intensive chemotherapy where she will be hospitalized for an entire month. Once she completes her chemotherapy treatment, she will have to go through a bone marrow transplant which is the only cure for her disease at this time.

The progression of the disease has forced my mom to retire early from her HR Director position at a non-profit organization and my Dad has also had to retire to help care for her.  Also my parents are the primary care takers for my 92 year old grandfather who lives with them and is in poor health.  This has caused a financial hardship on my family especially with my mom's medical bills since insurance does not cover everything.  Any funds raised would go towards any outstanding medical bills at this time.  My family usually is always the one helping others and rarely asks for any help in return but now they need it more than ever.  Please donate what you can or if you can not, please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers.
