Lincoln Brown loves the game of hockey, that much is clear. She is not only a fan, but a hardworking player who has an amazing opportunity ahead of her that we can help her with.

Lincoln, a member of the Los Angeles Kings affiliate team, the LA Lions, has been chosen to play in the World Selects Invitational 2020 tournament , which takes place in Chamonix, France on April 14-18. She will be representing Pro Hockey Development  and will be traveling with her mother, Rebecca Warner.

Lincoln recently attended the Black Girl Hockey Club  meetup at Staples Center with the Los Angeles Kings. She even got to ride the zamboni! See Lincoln talk about her experiences in hockey in the video below.

Here is the breakdown of how the funds will be spent:

*Transportation Fees: $2500
*Pro Hockey Fee (includes some food, accommodations, bus, practice ice cost) Lincoln+Rebecca:  $6000
*Uniform, Supplies, Stick, Tape, Laces, other meals: $1500

The World Selects Invitational Super AAA events provide tournaments in Europe where each Spring, the world's top hockey clubs and players meet for a world-class hockey competition and inter-cultural experience with the top organizations from around the globe. This invite-only tournament is designed to attract teams from geographically diverse areas where the top level of hockey is being played.

She will fly to Milan, Italy on April 9-10th where she will meet her team and practice at the Milan Ice Rink.  Then she will take a bus to Chamonix, France to compete against some of the best female hockey players (2007 birth year) in the world, and then return home April 19th.

This will be the first time Lincoln has left North America! She will gain invaluable experience and be able to display her talent and dedication to the game she loves. Not only will she be representing America, but she will be showcasing her talent as a young Black athlete in a sport that hasn't always been kind to marginalized communities. Let's show Lincoln and the world what we can do if we work together to make hockey culture a better experience for all.
