Liam's Tuition to NYLF.

Hi everybody!
Most of you who come across this already know Liam, our funny, crazy smart, little man. If you haven’t had the pleasure, here’s a mini bio about our budding scientist:
Liam is 11 years old. From a very young age we realized that Liam was not your average little boy. He was smart, articulate, and very very curious. He has always had a passion for science and anything that challenged his ever-hungry mind. He has developed a passion for all things STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) related and has sought out every opportunity to be involved in any program offering it.
Liam was accepted in to the Gifted and Talented (GT) program in second grade when we lived in Tucson, Arizona. Being a military child can be extremely difficult on a personal and academic level but Liam has always stayed strong. On top of being a GT student for many years, Liam has always had a stellar academic history. He has consistently makes the honor roll, has been awarded much recognition for academic excellence, and has always scored very well on all his assessments. He is a member of the Lego Robotics club at his current school and will compete in his first competition next weekend here in San Antonio. Liam is also a member of Boy Scout Pack 485. He is learning even more ways to serve his community and make a difference for his and others future. He has excelled beyond any of our expectations and now in San Antonio, Texas he is being offered a truly unique opportunity.
Liam was recently selected for a very exciting experience and I’m excited to share it with you. His Gifted and Talented teacher nominated him for a place in the Nation Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to STEM. This is a weeklong immersive program in summer 2018 with locations in Dallas or Houston, TX. To be nominated for this program is a great honor for Liam and a testament to the dedication he has put towards his academic excellence. His teacher recognized his potential and like us wants to help him exceed even his own expectations. This program is fully inclusive and packed with amazing educational advancement for Liam. He will be working with some of the best educators in the country on several different STEM platforms including educators from Stanford University! To even be nominated for this program is an honor but they have accepted is nomination and welcome his attendance!
Here's where Liam is hoping you come in…
Being accepted is only the first step. Tuition alone for the program is $2195. We would also be responsible for travel expenses and various required items for program participants. As a military family (one with three wild but amazing kids) it's unlikely we can afford the program all on our own. We are applying for a scholarship through the program but even if we are successful in obtaining it the entire cost will not be covered.
I'm asking you to help our amazing young man be a part of something that can be truly life changing for him. The stepping stone that he has been given can and will follow him far in to the future. He is being allowed a glimpse in to the world he strives to be a part of someday. Who would want to deny him that? If you are willing to help Liam by donating and getting him to this program, please know that you are making an enormous difference in a very deserving young man's life and he will be forever grateful.
