Help #LittleBigHeroesVenezuela fighting Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Julia, and I am a 2 times #cancersurvivor that fought against Leukemia; the first time as child at 9 and the second time as a teenager, at 15 years old; and in this year 2019, I am turning 20 years of being in cancer remission.

For that reason and to honor the bless of being alive and completely healed, I felt the urge to create the movement #LittleBigHeroesVenezuela, to help kids battling cancer in my home country, Venezuela. So, I would like to ask your support to give them the opportunity to live, enjoy life and grow older, as I have done.

To help the cause, this fundraise is starting by the amazingly supportive hands of @OneForMilkVenezuela, they already have a solid network of helpers in many countries, collecting and preparing shipments of medicines and food that are sent to Venezuela, as well as local volunteers and doctors taking action as soon as they receive the supplies.

With #LittleBigHeroesVenezuela we will start providing support to two (2) specific cases of our Little Heroes, and they are:

·       Hecdimar Salguera , a lovely fifteen (15) years old girl, who has a Lymphoma no-Hodgkin and needs and PET-CT scan or Positron emission tomography with urgency to review if there are still malignant cells in her body, which will allow determining if it is necessary to continue her treatment with Chemotherapy or change to Radiotherapy.

·       And Victor Miranda, a little boy of only 4 years old that has a Malignant Brain Tumor and needs to attend radiotherapy to complete his treatment.

·       …we hope with your support to be able to help many more kids!

To give  #LittleBigHeroesVenezuela an opportunity to heal, live and grow older, will hopefully provide a guiding light for more people in the future to become helpers of similar causes that will benefit people in need around the world to make it a better place.

Here are some difficult facts that these kids and their families are facing in the battle of cancer, which are worsened by a complex political situation in the Venezuela, some of them are:

- Public hospitals are not doing Radiotherapy treatments anymore, only a few private clinics are providing the service.

- Families from low and medium class can NOT afford the treatment of chemotherapy or radiotherapy. For example, the cost of only one (1) one chemotherapy is about $200 (a full treatment usually needs more than that), one (1) MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) to determine and characterize cancer has a value of around $1200.

- Some medicines are not even found in Venezuela, many are coming from countries like Colombia or Spain.

- Parents do not earn the sufficient income to buy the medicines, food and other supplies for kids to have a successful recovery.

- To put you in full perspective of the harsh economy in Venezuela, a minimum salary in Venezuela is not even $7*.

- And the unfortunate reality is that the majority of these kids can not complete the full treatment to have better chances at surviving.

Any contribution will help the cause as the sum of ALL OF US is what counts!
