Time: 2pm-3pm
Location: 1090 State St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111

On August 31th, 2016, my mom, Leslie Coral Sorrels, 61 years old; unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother, daughter, sister and good friend to many.  She will will truely be missed. I am trying to raise the money to fly from Columbus, Ohio to Salt Lake City, Utah where I will her memorial and collect my mothers  ashes from a family memer who has agreed to get them and hang on to them for me.

Death is not the end, and so, I would like to celebrate her life.  In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to raise money for expenses to conduct a memorial in Leslie's home town, Salt Lake City, Utah.  All funds left over from donations will be donated to organizations who provide services the homeless.

The hardest part of losing my mom is that I haven't seen her in 3 years. Being disabled and without much of an income made it financially impossible for me to travel from Ohio to Nevada to visit my mom. Even in her death I won't have the chance to see her again before her cremation. Meanwhile, having won my disability claim May of 2016, I have yet to see the money owed to me in back pay, which ties my hands in financially. Luckily, I found a way to get the cremation covered.

I love my mom so much, and, there really is no better way to put it; she was my best friend.  She was a unique, beautiful and amazing individual and was cherished by many.    She loved music and the New Orleans culture; she could cook a mean Gumbo. In fact, she was the best cook Iv'e ever known.  Not that I am biased being that I am her daughter.  I wish more than anything that I had the opportunity to hang out with her more, in her kitchen to watch her cook.

So many of you have already given an overwhelming show of thoughtfulness, sympathy and out pour of love; it is hard to put into words, the thanks Leslie’s family, and that I, her daughter would like to give to you all, for your support given during this difficult time. We are very grateful for your friendship and warm regards.

My goal is to raise the money for a memorial gathering in Salt Lake City, Utah to celebrate the life of my mom; feed the masses and to see you all there. Please donate what you can, every little bit helps, $5, $10,
 even  sharing the link.
