Leon Cain Scholarship Fund

Spende geschützt
This scholarship fund for aspiring black law students honors the life, leadership, and legacy of Leon M. Cain.

Leon passed away tragically and unexpectedly in an accident in Washington, D.C., on August 19, 2018. He was 27 years old. Leon was a loving son, brother, partner, and friend, and the magnitude of this loss cannot be overstated. Leon is survived by his mother, Henny Naumann-Cain, his younger sister, Kelly, and his stepdad Kelvin.

Leon was one year away from earning his JD degree from Stanford University Law School. Born in Berlin, Germany, Leon grew up in Los Angeles, attended college at USC, and worked in California politics before deciding to become a lawyer. He had just accepted an offer to join the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York as an associate after graduation in 2019.  Leon cared immensely about increasing diversity in the legal field and was serving as a board member of the Stanford Black Law Students Association and as Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance.

To carry forth Leon's living legacy, all of the money raised here will be transferred to a scholarship fund in Leon's name, called the Leon Cain Scholarship Fund for Aspiring Black Law Students. Part of Leon's own savings will go directly into this fund as well.

Leon's family and friends greatly appreciate your support through this unthinkably tragic time.
