As a result of the house fire many physical things were lost as well as a loss of income for Ray & Joni. We know God is in the midst of this and we are thankful for insurance, however the immediate need is still present.
Our parents have never been in this situation before and it can seem overwhelming, the peace that passes understanding has really been guarding their hearts and minds.
They want to express their deep thanks to everyone for all those who have offered to help. We feel this will be the biggest help in the transition. Monetary gifts as well as the list of immediate needs as they transition to temporary housing until their home is rebuilt.

How the Fire Happened

On Wednesday May 28th, about 2:20 in the afternoon we had a devastating fire at our home. Ray Lenzen and I were not at home, but Charity (caregiver for my mom) along with my mom, Joann got out unharmed.
The fire started on our back deck and spread quickly to the house. Our entire home is burned or has smoke/water damage. We are so thankful for the many friends (Kelly Culver, Nicole Mishonn, Codie Brynn Watson, Substance Church) & Family who came to our immediate aid. Our daughters, Jonna and Ria, and son-in-laws, Kyle Cross and Josh Thurston have been helping with everything! We don't understand why things happen as they do, but we can be assured that in every and all circumstances God is with us and works ALL things together for good...Romans 8:28 We know He will bring good from this.
Our possessions may be lost, but our family is together and safe! We appreciate prayers for strength, and unity as Ray and I make decisions and navigate through the process of moving forward in rebuilding our home and lives. Many of you have sent texts, emails and phone calls offering support and help. We SO appreciate it! Please contact our daughters, Jonna Cross and Ria Thurston for ways you can help! We know our brightest days are ahead of us...
