Lee County High School Robotics STEM

My niece shocked everyone in her family a few months ago when she joined her high school's robotics club.  We all thought it was great, but never thought it would go where it did.  These kids built a robot...in 6 weeks...that can operate autonomously, taking input from the arena and make decisions on its own regarding what to do, then on human control taking three people to operate and strategize in real time.  These kids won their first competition, against all odds, against teams with enough funding to buy their own tour buses.  This is a true David and Goliath story, and I'm proud to be a part of it.  We're not asking for much, just enough to get these kids to the State Championships, hotel rooms, banners for their pit area so they look as professional as the other teams, and a little spare cash to pay for repair parts for their robot.  This past weekend they played 21 matches before they won the finals.  No one thought they could go that far.  There was a need for repair after every match.  We're running out of supplies, tools, batteries, etc. and we're hoping that some of you will understand that a bunch of high school kids, mostly girls, are looking to win in a field that's dominated by boys and men.  I've worked in technology for over 20 years, I have never seen anything quite like this, and I want nothing more than for these incredibly promising young adults to kill it at their next competition.  Your donation can help them get there.  Thank you so much!

To be clear, I’m not affiliated with the school outside of volunteering my time to help these kids build a robot.  This is not an official fundraising campaign for Lee County Schools, but I can guarantee that every penny you donate will go to the Lee County High School Trobots Robotics Team.
