Leah Laky is one of the most caring, thoughtful people one could ever hope to meet. With an honest, vibrant selflessness, she lives life to the fullest, seeing beauty in every adventure she takes. She'll dance a dance and care full heartedly for those around. Unfortunately though, her well meaning actions don't always go as planned.
Having just recently moved to Grand Rapids from Grand Marais, Minnesota, she loves exploring the parks around the area. While at Reed's Lake, she decided to climb up a tree (step up on the ledge of the tree, more accurately) in honoring the memory of a dear friend. While stepping back down, Leah lost her footing, the spiny edge of the tree tearing open the calf of her left leg as she fell.
The cut was deep enough that she had to go to the ER. She received 41 stitches, 15 deep under the tissue and 26 on top to seal the wound. The cut did not lacerate the calf muscle, Leah does not have the insurance to help cover her costs. We built this page to help Leah with her medical expenses.
