Leah's Camino 500 for MS

A few years ago I promised myself I would walk the entire El Camino de Santiago before I was 40. As I near my 36th birthday, the Way of St. James is calling, and I can't resist. In an effort to raise money for the National MS Society (a cause very close to my heart) and to bring deeper meaning to this journey, I have promised myself I will complete the Camino in the Spring of 2015.
Please help me achieve this colossal goal!
I know 800 km sounds crazy and I am sure it will be very hard. Frankly, I know the years in which this is possible are numbered. Physical challenges make daily life hard already and I can imagine this will be exponentially more difficult. For over 1,000 years pilgrims have traveled this road for religious and personal reasons. As someone with a personal stake in this cause, I believe raising awareness and money for MS research is worthy of the enormous amount of energy, pain, and personal stamina this will require.
A majority of the target fundraising goal will go directly to the National MS Society for research. I plan to underwrite a large portion of the travel costs to Spain myself and in the spirit of a true pilgrimage, I am asking people like you to sponsor the estimated costs of room and board - about $30 per day. Most people finish the walk in 5-6 weeks. We'll see how fast my legs will travel.
