My name is Graeme Brunton and my youngest daughter Lauren who is 8 suffers from epilepsy Lauren was diagnosed a few weeks before her 4th birthday and every day since has been a challenge for her as she struggles with day to day life. Lauren has absence seizures which can last up to 5 seconds however she can literally have hundreds of these a day. This makes learning in school almost impossible. Lauren has constant seizures throughout the night while she's sleeping however unfortunately recently these have developed in to more serious seizures which are extremely dangerous and she needs to be brought out of this within 5 minutes using emergency medication. These are also causing her to vomit which in it's self is extremely dangerous as she not completely out of the seizure and there is the possibility of choking. There is a watch we can purchase which monitors Lauren's heartbeat and will trigger an alarm should she go in to a seizure through the night. If the system triggers an alarm, the heart rate data for the user is collected and stored. You can then export this data and easily converted into tables and graphs so that you can share the information with your consultant or healthcare professional. This could potentially save Lauren's life which as a parent is heartbreaking to even type. The cost of the watch and accessories is £1000. Anything you could contribute would be greatly appreciated ❤️
