Laura Goes -2-Kenya 2019

The time has come again to return to the shores of Kenya (from 2nd Decemeber - 16th December), to an  Orphanage called Sure24! This will be my 4th time going to Kenya and being apart of the incredible work Flowing Rivers is doing, anyone who knows me, knows how passionate I am, about the work that is taking place in Sure24.

Flowing Rivers is a charitable organisation who has made a long term commitment to the children in Nakuru Kenya, living in Sure24. 

Sure24 compromises of about 200 former street kids aged 2-19, with many that have been rescued from the harshness and social detachment of street life. These children are now completely dependent on the support and care provided by Sure24. 

As a member of Flowing Rivers,  I am a part of an organisation who  sponsors several children in Sure24, specifically towards their education, feeding and clothing.

This year I would like the opportunity to take it one step further, to not only sponsor from a distance, but to go out there and be present and to have greater impact!. This year, the purpose of my trip will consist of;

* Holding medical camps ( including diabetes testing, personal hygiene awareness & drop in clinics)

* Feeding programmes at the dumping site (where majority of the children are rescued from)

*Business training for the young adults
 
* Career coaching, for teenagers transitioning into Higher Education

In order for all this to be possible, I would like to encourage you to help me reach my fundraising target of £1000. The funds will go toward the orphanages in Sure24 and all the resources required to fulfil the above purpose.
