Lath's Urgent Surgery Fund

Donation protected
My 35 year old Lao friend, Lath Bjl, had a road traffic accident two months ago that has paralyzed him from the nipple down, so he is unable to feel any sensation in his lower legs or move them. He had an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Image - a fancy imaging test) to identify the injury :

- He has a vertebral crush injury of ~T9 – which means the body of this 9th thoracic vertebrae is crushed which has caused further injury to his spinal cord which explains why he is unable to move his lower limbs

- There are also smaller fractures in ~T8 (8th thoracic vertebrae)

- Without surgery they can cause further injury to the spinal cord and he will remain paralyzed for life

- With surgery and physical therapy there is a chance he may regain some sensation or movement so he needs to have a medical appoint with a surgeon either a neurosurgeon or an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spinal injury

Laos is still a least developing country (known as a 3rd world country) in Southeast Asia, so the hospital care is very limited. In this case Lath has to have a professional operation in Thailand as he could speak Thai language and also closer to his family.

The income of his family is relying on his job as a tourist guide. Lath also got family of 2 kids that he needs to support, that's the successful operation would not just help him but also enable him to look after his family.

Thank you so much for your kind support!

He is a tourist guide in Laos PDR before the road traffic accident.
