Watching the anxiety overwhelm him is devastating. Cancer patients thrive with happiness, humor, and stimulation to provide the hope that keeps them alive. Money, unfortunately, is often necessary to provide those things. I just want him to have joy and relief during the holidays. To not feel like he failed, like his life means nothing, or is almost over. Small things become important: a little personal heater, a trip to the movies, new songs on iTunes. Everyone--critically ill or not--deserves as much. And those aren't even the big concerns.
This was suggested to me as a way to obtain relief. The "goal" was set arbitrarily. How do you price ease, or an unknown future? I haven't the foggiest idea. Yes, hopefully sooner than later, he will receive some form of disability, but that's a future date. The anxiety and fear of how to manage and survive are today.
So I'm asking, if you're able, please donate. I am hoping that an actual person you know is as important as many other charitable holiday donations made. If the public forum bothers you, know there's an anonymity option, or if you'd like to help in a different way, feel free to contact me. Do so as well if you have questions about his health status, how funds will be used, why I chose this forum, or anything else I haven't thought of.
If you're unable to give, then may blessings befall you. And may you all be blessed for taking the time to read this. Whether you donate or not, keep praying for his comfort, health and maintaining his spirit--as well as all cancer patients, everywhere. Thank you for your time, and God Bless, and Happy Holidays.
