Lance's Kidney Transplant

Lance White needs your help. 

In 2007, the doctors found a cancerous tumor on his right kidney.  They removed the tumor, kidney and adrenal gland.  His left kidney doesn't function, and he has been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. 

He does daily home hemo dialysis.    He's also on the transplant list---he's received one phone call already, but couldn't get the kidney because he had the flu.    Transplants are expensive, and we've saved and scrimped as much as we can.   But we are struggling to cover all the costs.   We need a minimum of $10,000 to cover the medical and home expenses while he is recovering.    He will be in the hospital (Mayo Clinic) for a minimum of a week, and needs to stay at the Gabriel House by the hospital for at least another 3 weeks, but those dates depend on his recover time.   His medications will be expensive.   Medicaid will pay for some, and our private insurance will as well, but the copays are very high on some of the meds.

Lance and Jenni have been together 23 years, this year, and married in August for 16 of those.   We have 2 children together:  Andrea, who is 21 and married to a Marine, stationed in San Diego; and Alexander, who is 11.   He is an AutoCAD drafter for a company in Jacksonville, FL, and is the breadwinner for our house.    He was Alex's Cub Scout den leader, and stays on with Pack 268 as assistant scout master and Webelos 2 den leader.   Once he is "better", he'll be moving in to help Alex's Boy Scout troop as a leader.
