Help Carlisle Fight a rare Cancer

On March 2, 2019, my son Carlisle had just taken his nursery graduation picture and on the very next day, my mom noticed that Carlisle was not in his usual self. Carlisle was not speaking as much as he used to and looked very pale. Carlisle was then rushed to (San Lorenzo Hospital) with an initial diagnosis of tonsillitis and intermittent fever. I then requested to get his CBC (complete blood count) tested and only to find out that Carlisle’s CBC is abnormal and below average. Carlisle was admitted in the hospital for 3 days for further evaluation. As the day goes on, the Doctor advised that Carlisle had to be transferred to Philippine Children’s Medical Center. Carlisle’s CBC was then re-tested and the result had gotten worse; and so the Doctor suggested having a Bone Marrow Aspirate. In the early morning of March 6, 2019 at 5:30 am, I received the devastating call from my sister that my son has just been diagnosed with LEUKEMIA (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia).
Carlisle will be turning 4 years of age this April 13th . My flight to Philippines is on March 24th, and this was supposed to be my surprise trip to my son and to my family back home; given that he is graduating in nursery and his birthday month. But it did not turn out the way I was hoping for. Although this is happening all of a sudden, Carlisle is in high spirit. I am video calling him every single day and monitoring his progress. I am keeping my head up high and hoping to get through this. As I do not want my son to see and feel that he is in critical situation and in need of treatment. I love and I miss my son very much and I can’t wait to be right beside him during his upcoming treatments.
Therefore, as a single mother of Carlisle, I am deeply asking for financial support for my son’s medical expenses. I have managed to pay the current bills but will not have enough to keep up with the upcoming treatments and other medical expenses. Carlisle will need to go through a four-session of chemotherapy every 10 days ( 1 session of chemo is 4 cycle and 2 dose of chemo over all is 16cycle of chemotherapy) and will need to be confined during the treatments. As of now, the hospital monitors his (CBC) daily; he had already undergone a blood transfusion. He also needs a round the clock supervision and costly therapy sessions. Any amount of donation will go a long way to save my dear Carlisle.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia is a form of acute myeloid leukemia, a cancer of the blood-forming tissue (bone marrow). In normal bone marrow, hematopoietic stem cells produce red blood cells (erythrocytes) that carry oxygen, white blood cells (leukocytes) that protect the body from infection, and platelets (thrombocytes) that are involved in blood clotting. In acute promyelocytic leukemia, immature white blood cells called promyelocytes accumulate in the bone marrow. The overgrowth of promyelocytes leads to a shortage of normal white and red blood cells and platelets in the body, which causes many of the signs and symptoms of the condition.
