Kupo's Quality of Life

Donation protected

When Kupo was 4 months old  he started having issues with walking with one of his legs.  I took him to the vet, and he told me it was pretty much nothing.  Fast forward through the next year or so, he, from time to time would have issues suddenly yelping out looking at me like I did something to him.  I became concerned.  Something wasn't right.  I took him to another vet and again no problem.  First let me say I can provide any proof and documentation requested.

On his 2nd birthday, he began falling over nothing and the pain on his face was palpable.  He knew it wasn't me and would run to me not using one leg.   A few days ago he couldn't make it up one step and fell off, he screamed and I immediately made an appointment with the 3rd vet.   I was grateful that this wonderful vet was more inquisitive. She immediately found two problems.  The first one being the most important part and why the funding.  She told me his knee cap was not staying in place even for a second.  Normally when dogs have knee issues they can help train the knee cap to stay in place better.  But not Kupo... His is off to the inside and up into his upper thigh as shown below.
In other x-rays she showed tendon damage.  The other thing they were concerned with was his hip.  When they saw his left hip, they were concerned that even if he had surgery that his right hip wouldn't be able to support his weight because his left hip has too small of a ball and was sliding.
They said that since he was so young, they would advise surgery but it would be expensive.   His right hip ball join is a little larger but still lacking but would be okay to support him through the recovery process.

The alternatives would be to just keep him drugged up the rest of his life with limited activity, no or when it got to be too much to put him down.

I'm asking for funding for him.  I've been sick for so long that I've just used all my reserve over the past few decades.  Though I'm getting better I'm still not able to come up with a lump sum of this amount.  Just the surgery ( not including medications, x-rays, and post follow up care ) is roughly 2700.  The follow up care will be approximately 5-600 on the low side they said.  So I'm not asking for the full scope of what will be needed just what I need as a lump sum plus a little more for what 'gofundme' takes out.

It's already cost 400.00 just to find all this out and  give him medication to help lighten the inflammation and pain.

I know he is "just a dog" to many, but to me he is family and helped me get through a very dark medical time for me.  I would like you to get to know Kupo and what he has accomplished in just a short period of time as well as how loving he is.

If you made it this far then you might understand now why he is too precious to have him suffer for years in so much pain or to put him down.  Please help Kupo to have quality of life again.
