I have BIG NEWS!! So it seems a little Christmas miracle in March has occurred!! Katya received an email late last evening from Stanford University - they have “re-reviewed” her application and have decided that they are going to offer her a full scholarship to the Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes program after all, including a full refund of her $500 commitment fee!!! No explanation as to why but just brilliant! I called their financial aid office this morning to confirm and it seems a combination of factors promoted their change of heart. I'd like to think that all of our efforts had something to do with their decision, but ultimately it doesn't matter why. Time to CELEBRATE with Katya!!!!
I will now start the process of refunding all donations via GoFundMe as well as in-person/offline donations. Every penny of your GENEROUS donations will be returned. This story couldn’t have a better, yet more perplexing, ending. No harm no foul!! Intentions are everything and your generosity will not go unnoticed and will be repaid in spades with Katya’s success and happiness! Please let me know if you haven’t received your full refund within the next 10 days. I will ensure everybody that donated gets their complete donation back.
