Klemtu Mission Trip

Hey friends! As many of you know, I spent a year as an intern with the BC Mission Boat Society in 2007-2008 for my Director of Christian Outreach degree from Concordia University, Saint Paul. During this year I spent a lot of time in various First Nations communities along the BC Coast. One of those communites, Klemtu, has remained very dear to my heart as I have a ton of friends and family there now. This October I am planning on returning to Klemtu for a week of ministry and rekindling of relationships with the people there. I have not been back to Klemtu since September 2011 and am looking forward to this return. 

This trip won't have one specific activity but a variety. I will be spending time visiting elders in the community and having conversations and praying with them, spending time with and encouraging the youth, leading church services, bible studies, and events, and just engaging in Christ-centered relationships in the community.

Currently I am the only one who is going for sure but I am in the process of getting a larger team of 4-5 people total from our congregation in Dallas. The cost is estimated to be between $1,750-$2,000 per person.

My goal is to raise all of the required funds needed to make this trip possible. This includes transportation to Victoria, a rental car, ferry costs to Klemtu, food to take into the community for the week, and the cost for a representative for the BC Mission Boat Society to travel with me.

Any funds given above and beyond what is needed will be used to help others who may sign up for the team go and if any is left will be given to the BC Mission Boat to help support their continued ministry to all of the communities along the coast.

Also if you aren't able to donate financially but have airline miles, those would help lower the cost of the trip too.
