Kiss my Cancer

Donation protected

On September 6, 2017, I received the most unbelievable news. I have breast cancer! I couldn't believe it! My entire life changed from that moment on. I wanted to begin treatment immediately and by early October, I was receiving my first chemotherapy treatment and had already undergone a minor surgery procedure. Looking back, I would've taken a little more time to prepare for the consequences of treatment, for instance how horrible I would feel after chemo or how expensive treatment would cost. I wasn't prepared for what I would endure over the next year of my life. I just wanted to get rid of the cancer as quickly as possible!

I have three more chemotherapy treatments to undergo, then surgery and onto radiation. I thought I saw the light at the end of the tunnel but then I was hit with a ton of bricks..I lost my job three weeks ago. So now, I have no income and a mound of debt to deal with. Again, I wasn't prepared for what I would endure and with the high cost of copayments and deductibles, I had to choose whether I would pay for my medical care or my living expenses. I've been juggling paying bills from month to month so that I wouldn't get too far behind on any one debt and this worked ok for a while. Now I am four months behind on my mortgage and two months behind on my car loan payment. My vehicle insurance is due within the next few days and my water was cut off today at my home after begging the customer service representative for just a few more days to come up with the payment.

Although it's difficult to get dressed up for an interview when you look and feel sick, I've begun my job search already. I am considering driving for Uber until I find something more permanent but that requires a $250 payment for a hold placed on my license when my insurance lapsed for a few days in January. I've also applied for public assistance, which takes a lot of patience and time to get approved and isn't close to enough to cover my monthly expenses.

So here I am, asking my friends, family and anyone else who can help to please find it in your hearts to assist immediately as this is an urgent and immediate need. This is difficult for me to ask for help like this, but I will do whatever it takes to take care of my family and while doing so, stay calm and stress free so that I am healthy for my weekly treatments. I can't thank you enough for your generosity and I will be forever thankful.

Lastly, I want to thank my mom and dad for all the support they've provided during this time. My mom comes to every chemotherapy treatment she can and I don't know what I would do without her there. It's less scary with her by my side and I actually look forward to the time I share with her, even with all the medications being pumped into my body. I love you mom and dad!
