Hello all,
My name is Kirk Miller Jr., a senior at Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky. I received an acceptance letter from Morehouse College this year and will start classes this Fall 2016. I plan to major in Journalism while attending. Due to my previous low GPA my freshman and sophmore year, before turning my life around, I am required to attend a summer program at Morehouse College that prepares me for college life, teaches time management techniques, and understanding requirements for class success.
The cost of this summer school requirement is not covered under student loans. These are out-of-pocket cost my parents simply don't have. I've been granted an amazing oppurtunity to study at a prestigious college many dream of and I have the opportunity to join leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr. who also attended. However, I need your help! I need to raise $5,000 to pay for course preparation, room/board, transportation, and meals for summer session.
My ability to attend this summer determines my fall admission status and future funding. Your support means the world to me as I am determined not to be a negative statistic and I've charged myself to care for my mother, who has a disability that prevents her from working to support me. Receiving your support is vital to achieving my goal and maximizing my potential. Any little bit helps, I'm thankful for any and all donations and every dollar will be used for my education only!
