Help A Pug Out

"My name is Arthur and I'm only nine
But boy, have I had a heck of a time!
My ear started hurting and throbbing my head
Till all I could do was lay in my bed.
My people used drops and flushed out my ears
And gave me some treats that tasted weird.
I felt kind of funny but the pain was gone;
I thought we beat it, but I was wrong.
After the labs, the x-rays and tests
Doc told us surgery would probably be best.
It sounds kind of scary, and costly to boot!
My people are saving and fundraising too.
They made me a page and sent out some letters
In hopes of being able to make me feel better."



TECA stands for total ear canal ablation. These words mean that Arthur's inner ear is irreversibly damaged from stubborn infections and must now be surgically treated. In this procedure, Dr. Jackson will remove his eardrum, clear the debris and tissue from his inner ear and sew it up so that the infection will not reoccur. TECA is a delicate and intricate procedure that must be performed by a specialist- for a pretty penny.

Surgery is going to be the best option in order to get our happy, healthy pug dog back. Right now, we are managing his pain but the side effects make him gloomy. We are saving and trying to raise money to pay for Arthur's needed surgery. We give thanks to anyone who may be able to help us reach this goal.
