Kayla Needs a Kidney

When Kayla was 13 years old she ate shrimp in school, which caused a disease to attack her kidneys. The disease left her with complete kidney failure. She received a kidney transplant at age 14 but unfortunately that kidney was rejected only a few years later, forcing her back on dialysis. Her daily life consists of dialysis 3 days a week for 4 hours each time to stay alive. Kayla has now been on dialysis for 9 years, at just 28 years old. She would love nothing more than to be able to have children, and lead a normal life just like everyone else. However, in order to do so she would need another life changing kidney transplant. She is listed through The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl. But currently lives in Shady Dale, Ga. (She and her husband are looking to relocate to Jacksonville.) The first month of a transplant is critical, she will have to stay close to the hospital to ensure she makes it to all of her appointments. She is required to fundraise the cost of lodging for the first month, the cost of medications for the first year, as well as traveling expenses and other costs. She is turning to her family, friends, and her community to ask for help in raising $10,000.
