Hello!
I have been fighting stage 4 kidney failure for the last 3 years and unfortunately I have developed complications that are causing me to go down hill pretty quickly.
I have been pretty agressive about finding a living donor as waiting 10 years on "the list" is not a very promising option for me.
We now have 3 out of state donors that are being tested to see if they can donate. So far, one of them is a match, just alot of red tape.
We are first of all, looking for more living donors. If you are interested in donating a kidney to save a life OR just donating financially but using a different option other that go fund me, you can e mail us at [email redacted]. You will recieve a reply with information on donating a kidney or different options for donating to the fund raising efforts besides go fund me.
THE REASON FOR DONATION OPTIONS is that Go Fund Me, and other fund raising services charge a fee of at least 3% and so that is 3%-5%+ of the effort gone. Pay Pal also has a service fee all though we have a Pay Pal account as an option as well. We do understand however that these options are just easier for people and so we wanted to offer them.
THE REASON FOR THE GOAL OF $18,000.00 is that an out of state donor, which is most likely our situation, will have expences beyond medical that will need to be covered. They will have to fly to Ca up to 10 times over the year for various tests etc.. My insurance pays for the tests, not the flights. The donor will need food and lodging outside of the hospital on several occations as well as for a few weeks up to a month post surgery before flying home. We are pretty sure that any work missed will be covered by the donor's disability.
I don't have a super sad story or a cute baby to beg and manipulate people into giving through tapping into their emotions. My story is sadder than some and not as sad as many. My little grand daughter is adorable, but I would not want to ask her to put on such a show.
I still work full time and take most of the financial responsibility on myself. I want to live to see my grand daughter grow up and see my future grandchildren. I had plans, goals and dreams. I was an Entrepreneur and was on the path with 2 investors to opening a new theme restaurant. I had retired from the spotlight in the music industry and took a place writing for others. I spoke publically as a motivational speaker on occation and wanted to do more of that because I like helping people FIGHT for their dreams. I wanted to share a few revelations with the world.
I still want to do all these things, but without a kidney, I just don't have it in me to do more than keep my day job. How I long for day my health and energy will be restored to me.
