Hello Friends!

As most of you know the story I will try and keep this as brief as possible.  However for those who do not know the full story I will try and summarize it here to explain what we have been facing for the past 9 months for those who do not know.

This past November David became very ill while we were in California to visit with his mother and sister.  David unfortunately was so ill that he never once got to see his family.  He spent two days in the emergency room with multiple tests being ran and they scared us with the possibility of him having pancreatic cancer.

I drove all four of us home non-stop on a Sunday in order to get David into our family docotor first thing on Monday morning.  She rushed him to get MRI's, Ultrasounds and checked into the ER here in Eugene that day.

We found he did NOT have cancer but was struggling with pancreatitis.  Within a matter of the next several weeks we had at least 10 ER visits, 12 Doctor visits, his Galbladder removed, 12 days admitted into the hospital.  Several specialists and he continued to get worse.  By February we were sent to Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle to see a pancreatic specialist that is the best in the nation.  He reviewed David's symptoms and after 10 minutes of talking to him he said you are no longer being seen for your pancreas, there is somthing more to your symptoms.

David spent 5 days in Seattle alone as I had to return home to tend to our 2 children and keep some income coming with with my job.  Doctors discovered David was haivng kidney failure; his kidneys were not filtering allowing protein into his body and flushing everything straight through his system absorbing no nutritional value.  This would explain the 42 pound weight loss from December to February.

After receiving two infusions in Seattle to flush his kidneys and get them operating properly David returned home to Eugene.  This was a very slow process and he was extremely ill, weak and was seeing little progress.  Over time he was in and out of the hospital, seeing multiple speicalists, lost some vision in his left eye (which has never returned) and began having new sysmptoms of neurological issues.

Here we are 9 months later; David is still very weak no matter how much I push him to go on mild hikes, evening walks and every day to day normal things it is hard for him to have the energy and stanima to keep up.  We have medical bills that are still filtering in and we have now been a single income household with 2 very active children for 9 months.

Our kids are 8 and 10 and AMAZING however they have missed out on summer camps, summer vacations, summer activites and now possibly even fall sports due to our financial obligations to normal things such as mortgage, groceries, docotor bills and insurance.

It is not easy for me to personally reach out and ask for help, however I am now facing a situation that I must ask for some financial help.  Even if it is as simple as helping my kids get into a soccer camp in August.  Paying a doctor bill or getting some groceries in the fridge.  This is embarrassing, humbling and touching all at the same time to know we have a community of friends and family that love us uncondittionally.

Your continued prayers to our family is grealy appreciated.  In addition to us seeking some financial assistance we are also looking to sell some items that we do not necessarily need and could instead use the money to keep afloat.  Should you be interested in a 2005 travel trailer, or a ProForm Elliptical trainer I have these items for sale.  I am also making hommade lavender salve, infused vodka, cookies, and lemonade to sell if anyone would like to purchase some.

Should you too find yourself in a need for prayers, love and support - please let me know.  I am more than happy to help find creative ways to help and support your family as well.

The biggest help you could do for us right now is share this GoFundMe page and make sure we get this out to as many people as possible in hopes that there are some in financial situations that can help us.  If you have alreayd dontated to our previous medical fund that my sister set up for us a few months ago THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.  Please do not feel obligated to donate a 2nd time unless you absolutely want to.  Many hugs and loves to you all.

Sincerely,

Keri Brown
