Keep the kids at school!

As part of our cultural center TOONDA in Fort Portal, Uganda, we founded the Smart Kyakataama project four years ago and are now able to send 60 children to school.

The children come from precarious situations, and without support, school attendance would be impossible for them. We are infinitely grateful for our great school sponsors, who are so fabulously supportive of their children.

Times have changed.

What used to cost 210€ a year, now costs double to triple (depending on the school). This is mainly due to the fact that after two years of forced Corona break, there is now a lot of extra classes and in addition to this, the violent inflation. This unusually high inflation has meant that not only have school fees increased, but school supplies that children have to take to school (for example, books, pens, mattresses etc), have also escalated significantly in price.

Thus, the donations this year have only been enough until now and will not cover the third semester. We are very hopeful that the situation will ease and normalize again. But until then we would like to keep our children in school.

Please help us to keep our 60 children in school through this challenging times!!!

Als Teil unseres Kulturzentrums TOONDA in Fort Portal, Uganda, haben wir vor vier Jahren das Projekt Smart Kyakataama gegründet und können mittlerweile 60 Kinder zur Schule schicken.

Die Kinder kommen aus prekären Situationen, der Schulbesuch wäre für sie unmöglich. Wir sind unendlich dankbar für unsere tollen Schulpaten, die ihren Kindern so sagenhaft zur Seite stehen.

Die Zeiten haben sich geändert

Was bisher mit 210€ im Jahr zu meisten war, kostet nun das doppelte bis dreifache (je nach Schule). Das liegt vor allem daran, dass es nach zwei Jahren erzwungener Coronabedingter Pause nun viel Extraunterricht gibt und dazu kommt noch die heftige Inflation.

Somit haben die Spenden dieses Jahr nur bis jetzt gereicht und werden das dritte Semester nicht decken. Wir hoffen sehr, dass sich die Situation wieder entschärft und normalisiert. Aber auch bis dahin möchten wir unsere Kinder weiterhin zur Schule gehen.

Bitte helfen Sie uns, unsere 60 Kinder auch für die zweite Hälfte dieses Jahres in die Schule zu schicken!!!
