About Me
My name is Kayla and I am an actor and theatre educator living in Columbus, Ohio. Three years after graduating from The Ohio State University, I have worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Ohio State University to teach theatre at the Graham Expeditionary Middle School, Columbus Children's Theatre and the Short Stop Youth Center. I am honored to have performed in productions with Available Light Theatre Company, Whistling in the Dark, Shots in the Dark, and the Actors' Theatre of Columbus.

The Apprentice Company
This year, I have been selected to be an Acting Apprentice with the Actors Theatre of Louisville for the 2014-2015 season! This program, designed to serve as a bridge between academic and professional theatre, is truly an honor. Over 2,000 actors audition for this program each year and I was 1 of 20 selected.
Meet the Apprentice Company
For ten months, I will perform in numerous devised and main stage productions, including the Humana Festival of New American Plays. I will train with the best theatre ensembles in the country and observe their rehearsal process. I will develop a supportive network of colleagues and professionals. This is both a humbling and exhilarating opportunity for me.

Two Ways You Can Help
This month, I need your support with helping me to pay for living expenses and ramen noodles. So, I will be hosting a two-fold fundraiser.
One: Fundraiser and Farewell Barbeque
Saturday, July 12th
3:00 - 7:00pm
Firstly, if you live in Columbus, Ohio, I will be hosting a big backyard barbeque complete with silent auction, trivia, and a moving sale. You should come. It'll be Downton Abbey with ribs.

Two: The Online Campaign
Secondly, my campaign will continue online for those of you who can not make it to the barbeque. But don't you worry! The fun doesn't stop there!
For each donation level, I've got something special I will do for you as a small thank you for your support.
I Need Your Help Now
I will be leaving on July 24th and the funds you send allow me to pay rent, utilities, and living expenses. Won't you please consider this small investment in me to support me in this transition? I would be most grateful for any support you can manage at this time.
Thank you for your continued love and belief in me.
In peace,
Kayla

One of my favorite videos we made at Short Stop with my young performers. Original music by our kids too!
Some of my favorite moments with the youth of Short Stop. Whether in a play, on a shoot, or goofing around, I enjoyed every minute of working with these young people.
