Kathy Rogers' Recovery

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, our Mom, Kathy Rogers was robbed and physically assaulted at her work in downtown Saginaw, MI. She was the only person in the office that morning, so she was not found for ~3hrs after the attack and had to be airlifted to the University of Michigan--Ann Arbor Hospital due to life threatening injuries. She is being well cared for, but is still in intensive care and undergoing surgeries (putting metal plates in her face). Some major health concerns include that she is still unable to see anything out of one eye, her blood pressure sometimes went dangerously low, her jaw is broken, and there are some concerns about her heart.

The progress she has made in just a few days as she is fighting to survive is astounding and miraculous. 

You will notice that we are choosing to post only pictures of mom before the attack. We are not showing what she looks like right now, because our focus is on a full miraclous recovery.  (And honestly, Mom would be upset if we shared pictures of her right now.) 

This experience has shook my family to their core. We have cried many tears and there will be more tears as we process what happened. We pray for many things including, justice. We ask you to join us in praying for justice in this attack.

As we move forward, many of you have asked how you can help.

First, we are overwhelmed with your prayer support. My mom is a miracle. It is a miracle she is alive. Thank you for praying--please continue to do so as we have a long path to my mother’s physical and mental recovery and my entire family’s healing.  

A second, very tangible act, is to help is to help us cover expenses due to this tragedy. As we pray for a full recovery of my mom, we realize now and down the road there will be many expenses due to this horrific experience.
