Just Good Score is a comprehensive ethics and environmental impact scoring system for consumer goods that is launching in the new cannabis industry.
Cannabis farming and processing can have extremely harmful effects on the environment, and the market is situated within a context of inequality, as when cannabis was illegal, millions of Americans served time and have permanent criminal records, for what is now legal. Overwhelmingly, those incarcerated were and are people of color, and those currently profiting off the industry currently are overwhelmingly White. These things can and must change for the better.
The components of the scoring system represent the nine environmental and social areas that are needed to achieve a market that is both socially just and environmentally good.
As both an emerging industry and as the largest cash crop in the world, we have a rare opportunity to impact the development of this market towards the best practices for people and the planet.
Our mission is to leverage the state cannabis markets toward environmental and social justice, through shifting the supply and demand sides of the market toward best practices by providing consumers, businesses, and the public with education, market transparency, and performance metrics that are meaningful, accessible, and actionable. This can have a profound impact on the carbon footprint of the cannabis industry, the wellbeing of those involved in it, and consumers. This model has the potential to leverage markets toward environmental and social justice in other markets as well.

We are working to complete the next iterations of the tool, where we will continue to add features, educational materials, and company scoring. We are seeking $38k for this phase.
