Summer Opportunity to Johns Hopkins

My name is Juliana Florez. I attend PCTI. I am currently in the Academy of Medical Arts at my school. I am in the process of getting my CNA license and next year will become an EMT. Of course, I plan to become a doctor in the future and impact people's lives, just the same as doctors have impacted me. Growing up, I spent most of my time in and out of hospitals. I became familiar with so many fields of medicine at such a very young age. Now that I am older, I hope to expand on my knowledge and accomplish my dreams. I was just granted the great opportunity to attend a National Youth Leadership Conference of Health at Johns Hopkins University. This news brought me to tears, as this university is my dream. My mom cannot afford $3,641 by herself, as it is just her and I. School and my future in the medical field means everything to me. I am an honor student, taking AP and college courses. I work very hard for my grades and achievments and only hope to accomplish my dream. This summer program will benefit me in a way that will not only impact me for my future, but enhance my body and spirit. No one said the journey would be easy, but it is not impossible. As a junior in high school, this will also look fantastic on a college resume. My mom is a single mother. I have learned confidence and determination because of her. I cannot begin to stress how much this program will help me. It is a reminder that with hard work, dreams can come true. And with your help, they will.
