Jose\'s Team- fighting leukemia together

Donation protected
Friday, March 30, 2012, our \"big boy\" JR was not feeling well.  As concerned parents do, we took him to the doctor. The doctor directed us to take him to the ER. ER doctors ran tests to find out why our \"big boy\" wasn\'t feeling well. Results came back and doctors reported to us: Your son has leukemia.

With all the pain in our hearts we said this can\'t be. He was fine yesterday, how can this be? JR was transferred to The Children\'s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where doctors completed their own tests and confirmed the sad news YES your son has Leukemia.

A bone marrow test was completed to determine what type of Leukemia. Results came back that it is acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). All is common in young kids. Doctors have informed us that JR will have a long recovery. He has a hospital stay of one month at which time he will receive chemotherapy. A port was inserted for him to receive chemotherapy. It will then follow with weekly hospital and doctors visits. He has a recovery period of 2-3 years.

Your support to our \"big boy\" JR will be greatly appreciated. Jose and I are distraught, but we have to be strong for JR. He\'s been so strong and courageous that we can only be just as strong and courageous for him.

Thank you for all your support. Please keep JR and our family in your prayers.
