Jon Wright, our teammate at North Shore Muay Thai Academy, was chosen as one of the top amateurs in the world, to compete at the WKA Unified World Championships in Tuscany, Italy this fall!
Jon, a Winthrop, MA native, began training Muay Thai 8 years ago at a Total Performance Sports in Everett, MA. Soon after, Jon transferred over to North Shore Muay Thai Academy in Beverly, MA. Jon's work ethic, dedication, technique perfection, and passion for the sport have brought him endless success in his amateur career. This includes his performance in Richmond, Virginia at the WKA Nationals this past Spring, where he was 1 of 3 competitors (out of over 800) to qualify and be invited to the WKA Unified World Championships in Tuscany, Italy this October, where he will be recognized as one of the top amateurs in the WORLD!
Jon has been an inspiration to all of the students at NSMTA and a role model to new students. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to the students and has a wealth of knowledge that he shares with students new and old.
Jon is 6'4, 210 lbs. and looking to win his first international belt. Jon's size, technicality, and heart will make him extremely hard to beat in Italy and he will surely not disappoint!
All donations will cover all travel expenses, including transportation, lodging, and event registration for Jon, his coach, and his cornerman. Help Jon to represent the US and show the world what an incredible fighter and athlete he is!
