J.T.'S JOURNEY

As many of you know, SuperTalk Mississippi show host J.T. Williamson has been in the fight of his life over the last 10 months.  In January 2020, J.T. got the diagnosis we all fear…he was diagnosed with cancer, specifically lymphoma.  J.T. knew it was going to be an uphill battle and he was ready for the fight.  But little did he know just how big of a battle he was about to face.

While preparing to begin treatment in early February 2020, J.T. suffered a massive blood clot that traveled to both lungs and he was rushed to the hospital.  While at the hospital, J.T. suffered five cardiac arrests and he was placed on a ventilator. His family was told to prepare for the worst.  However—thanks to what J.T. describes as nothing short of a miracle— after more than two weeks on a ventilator, J.T. began to improve and after four weeks in the hospital he was moved to a rehab center to begin countless hours of therapy to learn how to walk and talk again.

While undergoing extensive inpatient rehab to recover from the damage caused by the blood clots and the time on the ventilator, J.T. also began chemotherapy to treat the lymphoma.  J.T. eventually gained enough strength to transition to in-home care. While at home, J.T. has continued rehab therapy and his chemotherapy treatments.

THE FIGHT CONTINUES

Based on his latest PET scan, J.T.’s lymphoma has responded well to the chemotherapy and he is close to or in remission.  But J.T’s fight is not over!  J.T.’s doctors have determined that the only way to ensure that his lymphoma does not return is for him to undergo a stem cell transplant

Fortunately, J.T. has been selected as a candidate for a stem cell transplant at the world-renowned M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and he is scheduled to begin the transplant process in  mid-November 2020.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

While he is in Texas,  J.T. will be faced with a large amount of out-of-pockets costs to cover his medical, travel, rent, and living expenses.  Our goal is to help J.T. with those costs.

J.T. is revered and loved by the SuperTalk Mississippi family and so many of his friends and listeners have reached out and asked us how they could help.  Here is your opportunity!  Every dollar raised will go directly to J.T.  No donation is too small and if are unable to donate at this time, please continue to keep J.T. and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
