Battle of Hue City reunion

Donation protected
I have a lot to say about this fundraising campaign but will try to keep it short. My uncle,  Peter Addesso is part of a USMC Battalion who fought in the historic Battle of Hue City in February of 1968. This was one of the most fierce, bloodiest and longest battles that is now known as a turning point in the Vietnam War. Many Marines were wounded or killed. He sustained a spinal cord injury due to a rocket launched grenade and continued to lead the group until he was relieved of duty and medevaced away. This earned him the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star amongst many other medals received by him and many in his Battalion. There is a Navy ship named after the battle. The U.S.S Hue City. This year marks the 50th anniversary of this 28 day battle and there is a reunion planned in Jacksonville, Florida aboard the Navy Ship. I am trying to raise money to see that all the survivors get there, that they all can proudly wear a new set of dress blues and we can arrange for them to have a dinner and time together with their families. Some have not see each other since that day. These heroes have gone through hell and back and as teenagers, endured more than anyone should ever be asked to. Like my uncle,  some received life long injuries that left them  in wheelchairs for life. When they returned home from Vietnam, they were greeted as the enemy and made to feel that the war was their fault. My uncle tells a story of how he needed to use the Lynbrook, NY public pool for physical therapy and was told a person of his kind was not allowed in. So we want to raise money to be sure these heroes can be shown that we are grateful for their service. This is the least we can do. Let's make them feel proud for serving our country. We may not have supported the war, but we now need to show our support to the brave Veterans. On behalf of myself, and my family we ask you to please help with this campaign so we can show them that we also don't leave anyone behind.
