Joe Arciero, IRMA Flood Victim

Donation protected
Joe Arciero, Aloha Joe, or as I call him uncle Joe. You can see him here with my beautiful son Reese.
He is my uncle through marriage, well technically he is my wife’s uncle. Uncle Joe is the type of person who would do anything he can for you. If I ever need anything he is always right there he would basically give you the shirt of his back. I mean he isn't perfect, but he is a great man and has worked hard for what he has. He put everything into his home as this is where he intended to spend the rest of his life. Hurricane Irma has affected alot of people and half of my family. Fortunately most of my family came away unscathed, but uncle Joe's life may never be the same. Hurricane Irma brought in flood water of about 1-2 feet inside of his house. The photos I have are from 2 days after the storm so the flood waters had receded some by then.  Everything and I mean everything on the inside needs to be thrown out. The whole house has to be gutted including the carpet, cabinets, appliances, and drywall. All of his personal belongings including clothes, couch, bed, tables, tv, and everything else that is below3 feet has to be thrown out. The kicker is that flooding isn't covered by his hurricane insurance and he doesn't have separate flood insurance. I don't have an exact figure on the total damage or the replacement costs, but I believe it will be somewhere between 30 - 70 grand. I am asking for your support in raising $12,000 to support my uncle in getting his house back in order. The money is for demolition, drywall replacement, painting, and a refrigerator, and living expenses. I figure it will cost about $2000 - $3000 for demolition and removal of all cabinets, drywall, carpet, furniture, and ruined appliances. To replace the drywall it costs about $4,000. Then to paint it will cost around $1000 to $1500. Then about $1500-$2000 for a new refrigerator. The other $2000 is to help with living expenses as he is retired and on a fixed income.

The house needs to be gutted before toxic mold starts to grow and set in. So it is crucial that we get started ASAP!

After these repairs he will at least be able to live in his house again, now it may be awkward without cabinets and furniture, but at least itwill be safe and have walls.  As in the houses current state it isnt habitable and can’t be lived in. To  top off everything else the septic tank backed up and septic waste was mixed in with with the flood water and entered his domicile.
I am not asking nor am I expecting anything from anyone, but if you want to give and help support us in our time of need then I thank you as every little bit will help and it will without a doubt be appreciated. He doesn't know that I am doing this for him, but he needs the support so if you feel the urge to support victims of hurricane IRMA you can actually give to someone you know or at least a family member of someone you know.
If you look on the left of this photo you can see that the water is upto and inside of the garage and inside the house.

These photos were from 2 days after the storm and had receded the street there had another 1 to 2 feet of water on it and was undriveable as the whole neighborhod was flooded.

Thank you in advance for your time and for your consideration. Every donation will be used to better the situation of Joe Arciero and his current living situation.

Sincerely,

Ben Fulker
