Who Is Joanne Cook:
Joanne is a loving wife mother and grandmother who does several things for the community, her church and she cares more about other people than herself. For example, Joanne has therapy dogs that go to nursing homes to brighten other peoples lives. She resides in west Boise, Idaho. Mother of four children and Grandmother of eight.
Joanne Cook's Story
Joanne's had difficulties with her back since 2010. She had her first surgery in 2010, and another one a few years later. She was still having issues with her lower back, and another surgery was needed to fix the broken tail bone. The pain continued for several more years. After more medical advice they decide on one more surgery this last month on May 17th 2017.
The surgery went well and recovery process began the following week with physical therapy. One week later on May 24th 2017 just seven day after the surgery, the physical therapy staff were helping Joanne put a back brace on, and then tragedy struck, there was a snap in her upper neck.
Joanne had another emergency surgery, but after seven hours the medical surgeons had determined Joanne is now Paraplegic from the sternum down.
What Are The Funds Needed For:
Walt and Joanne Cook will be using the funds raised here to cover the medical charges from surgeries, and also for the home makeover that is required for her new condition, they will need to do some remodeling to make their home wheelchair accessible.
