About two years ago, Dad found out that he had a rare and terminal lung disease. After trying many different medical options, he found that he could be a candidate for a lung transplant. After even much more testing he was put on the transplant list. From his position on the list, he was about 90 days from a transplant. Miraculously, 8 days after he went on the list, a pair of lungs that would only "fit" him came available and in the early morning hours of November 19th he received his transplant and began to recover.

The recovery process will be long. In the meantime, the family has many expenses that they are currently unable to pay.

Some of these expenses are:
• $9,000 - $10,000 - Insurance Co-pay
• $3,000 - $5,000 - Car Repair (The bus and the minivan have become unreliable and in need of repair.)
• Unknown - Rehab housing (After leaving the hospital, Dad will need to live near the hospital for at least 3 months for daily therapy.

These are just a few of the needs. Currently, Mom is spending 5 hours on the road (in a loaner car) to be with Dad. Others in the family, are staying with Dad as much as possible.
