The Jansen Family needs our help.
Jim is 53 and has been courageously battling stage 4 Esophageal Cancer, which has been aggressively spreading to other parts of his body. Jim is a supportive husband to Maria and a young, loving father to 12 year old Meaghan, and 22 year old Melissa. Jim was working at PC Richards as a salesman, and commuting into the city to receive chemotherapy at Sloan Kettering Hospital. He was hospitalized recently because the cancer spread and blocked his liver. Each day there has been a new complication and more pain for Jim. The doctors have told Maria to begin making arrangements and to notify family and friends, so they can say goodbye. Unfortunately, they don’t have life insurance or any savings to pay for a funeral. Both of them worked and lived pay check to pay check to make ends meet. His wife Maria, a bus driver who gets paid hourly, has been trying to work while he’s been in the hospital. She had to go on Family Leave to help take care of Jim, and spend these last precious moments with him. This is a proud and hard working family, who would never ask for help. I am asking for them. They are in desperate need of your support. They are also in need of your prayers, please pray for peace for Jim and strength for his family. I am Jim’s niece, Kimberly Lee, who lives in Virginia. Jim has been like a brother to me. His fun loving personality and caring for others has touched so many. I’m hopeful that we can all come together to touch their lives and help them through this difficult time.
