Jennifer’s Memorial Scholarship Fund
I am Jeff her older brother by 2 years. In honor of Jennifer, I will use the money raised to help fund a scholarship for a student in pursuit of their college education at Jennifer’s alma mater.
The funds will be matched by my parents to double the final amount of the scholarship endowment to $50,000.
Jennifer, my sister, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in March of 2017 and after a long 8 months of the illness, she passed on November 11, 2017 in her childhood home in Headland, AL.
She passed away with our Mother and Father there by her side. Jennifer leaves behind her parents, brother, two sisters, nieces, nephews, students, and friends.
Prior to her passing, Jennifer taught high school Home Economics in Tuscaloosa for 20 years. She would go on to work 10 years at the Alabama Department of Education where she was the State Director for the Alabama FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America). She worked closely with teachers and students across Alabama in guiding them in developing skills for future careers.
My parents were there by her side for the entire 8 months as she stayed soley at their home. There were numerous 400 mile round trips to Birmingham for weeklong visits for chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
The outpouring of love and concern at her funeral and during her illness was truly a testament to her life.
We are so grateful for all the outreach and kind words we have received.
If you would like to help us get the word out, please share this campaign on your Facebook Page. We appreciate Your support.
Sincerely,
Jeff Adams
