Hello Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and learn about my fundraising campaign. My name is Jenna Brown and I am 20 years old. I have been training at Master Juan's Karate in The Colony, Texas for over 10 years where I have achieved my 3rd degree black belt.
I recently competed at the 2013 USA Karate Nationals and Team Trials and won the Gold medal in Kumite/Fighting in the 18-20 -53kg Division. It is because of this accomplishment that I am now a member of the Junior U.S. National Karate Team. Moreover, winning the gold medal has earned me the right to compete at the very prestigious Junior World Karate Federation World Championships in Guadalajara, Spain.
I have worked and trained very hard over the years because it has been my goal to qualify to fight for team USA at the WKF world championships. There will be competitors from over 100 countries at this event and it is sanctioned by the same organization that will one day bring Karate to the Olympic stage. This trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me as it is the last year that I am able to compete in this league.
I will be asking local businesses to sponsor my trip, as well as passing out sponsorship letters and planning local fundraisers. But, I still need your help. I estimate this trip will cost about $5,000 for travel, hotel, food, and competition fees for both me and my coach, Sensei Adrian Galvan.
