Hello to my Family and Friends and their Family and Friends!
My name is Jamari Spears-Screen and I am in the 7th grade and currently attend Woodville Elementary School. Because of my academic potential and interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), one of my teachers personally nominated me to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM.
As a result of her nomination, I have received an official, personal invitation to participate in this exciting educational opportunity this summer at one of the ten participating college campuses of my choice. Here are only but a few of the awesome activities I would get to explore:
√ Experience College Culture in a Safe & Secure Campus Environment
√ Plan for a “Mission to Mars”
√ Enjoy a Keynote Address by former NASA Astronaut
√ Practice Medical Techniques via a Realistic Simulation
√ Create Floor Plans Using CAD Software
√ Participate in a Robotics Design Challenge & Specialized Labs
√ Join in an Interactive Team Project exploring 21st Century Ethical Frontiers
√ Develop Management, Conflict Resolution, Collaboration & Public Speaking Skills
There’s nothing I want more than to take part in this amazing, life-changing summer experience, but such an awesome event requires more money than I have saved. This is where I’m really hoping my family and friends might be willing to help.
I need to raise $2,295 to cover the cost of my tuition, which is why I’ve created a GoFundMe page to assist me in raising enough money to reach my goal.
